What is the
Buddy Program?
The Buddy Program makes
provisions for Goddard High School football student athletes to
become a mentor for the Junior Football Program. As a mentor, the
high school student athlete will act as a role model, while
providing support to the junior player. This support can be in the
form of coaching (football), homework, or just an ear to listen.
This mentorship is available for all High School Football Student
Athletes and Junior Football Players.
How does the
Buddy Program work?
A High School Student Athlete
will be assigned a “Buddy” from the Junior Football Program.
Occasionally the High School Student Athlete will participate at the
Junior Football practices and help coach his “Buddy”. He may contact
his “Buddy” by phone at the player’s home to talk about school,
homework, grades, sports, or just to say “Hi”.
Why have a
Buddy Program?
We hope to help encourage
relationships and contribute to the growth of the football program
in Goddard. In doing this we feel it will foster a level of self
worth and belonging for all the student athletes participating in
the program.
Option Out?
If any Parent or Junior
Football student athlete prefers not to participate, please contact
Chet or Karla Scudder by phone, in writing or e-mail with your
request not to be included in the program. Please respond “ASAP”. This program will go into effect
Sept 1st 2005.
